I'm sooooo dense sometimes.....
Well guys......
I haven't logged in under the Admin name in a loooooong time.....
Tonight I tried to and the fugger bugger wouldn't let me....... It said my account had been dis-abled due to "inactivity"
Believe me I've been active--- just not on here LOL
Soooo I hit the re-send PW button.....
Nope won't do it.... some einstein (me) disabled that feature so that the board couldn't be hacked..... (Brilliant I know)
Sooooooooo I say all of this to say.... I can't moderate ANY comments on here so don't ask me to..... Once u post em.... they are posted......
I would change the board to another link but (again) another Mensa moment....... Before I tried the admin function I sent the link out to my "Myspace" buddies ....... and pissing them off is like pissing in the wind so that's NOT gonna happen.....
The only thing I ask is that you PLAY NICE........
(PS) Yes I can still activate new accounts...... THAT is going to my email that I actually USE......
~Peace~

See? You DO get what YOU pay for... :P
There is something to be said for actually PAYING for hosting.
You see, if you pay for server space, you do tend to have a bit more control over your account (and any software on it), even on a shared server. By using this host, they have the right to do something such as disable any account--including an Admin account--on the basis of mere "inactivity". And why not? If you were hosting sub accounts assigned to outsiders, wouldn't you want to keep people off who will only open accounts and then not USE them except for purposes no web host wants, such as spamming?
The result? You had to do a "workaround" just to be able to be able to be an (apparently non-"root" at that) Admin on your own phpBB board!!
"Non-root"? Well, it seems you do not have complete control over the setup and management or it would have taken more than not logging in for awhile to get you "kicked off" the "back end" (although forgetting one's password--something you do with great regularity--would do that since it appears (correct me if I am mistaken) that you have no direct access to the root and "home" directory files and/or direct php database access).
(NOTE: Don't get me started on phpBB, although 3.0 (I have set up a test site at one of my own domains) is a LOT better than the earlier versions. A little more work, and it might be as good as SMF...
)
Anyway, you get what you pay for. Also keep in mind that you are getting what you paid for from a service based in FRANCE, regulated by FRENCH law. Yes, it might make it a bit harder for AMERICAN pains in the ass to disrupt/spam this board, but try to get "satisfaction" when and if you complain to the REAL management...
