Or a poster child--with a lot of kids--for why assisted conception technologies are actually the best idea since seeding farm fields with abandoned land mines. At least, this AP news report points to a real ethical problem with "in-vitro" or other assisted reproduction techniques.

Now what?

What do all of you think?

My opinion? So far, although President Obama has been suprisingly even-handed in most of his Cabinet choices, there are a few that concern me as being "Eco-nuts" and the "Lifestyle Police" (think the Surgeon General appointee here). Not a good thing for civil liberties.

I also get the impression that this seeming "even-handedness" may be less out of "fairness" and more out of "seeking the path ...

Seems that Bernie Madoff's Ponzi Scheme has the Feds pissed-off. As it should. Pissed-off enough, in fact, that Federal prosecutors are calling for a rather "unusual" move for someone who is accused of this grade of "white-collar" crime and who holds the social status Madoff does. According to this Associated Press article (hosted at the Washington Post), it seems that Bernie may well be learning some new "house rules"...those of the Big House. Club Fed.:

Just get rid of the trays! According to this MSNBC report--"More colleges chucking cafeteria trays"-- many colleges have done just that. The idea is to be "greener" by saving energy and money.

However, it can be a big problem for their customer base: Yes, it can be done and in drought-stricken areas, the savings in water is NOT trivial; another claim is that no trays means less wasted food. The real motivation? Perhaps it's this (since disposable trays that use no ...

It looks like our newly-elected Czar...eh...President Obama is not exactly willing to wait for Congress to get HIS Decrees...uh...changes for America in place. Instead, it seems that the "Executive Order" will be his "legislation of choice" in the new Administration. At least, this AP report--"Obama to use executive orders for immediate impact", by Stephen Ohlemacher, Associated Press Writer--indicates that one word that does NOT describe Obama is "patient". ...

Obama's grandma just died of cancer in Hawai'i. Just before Election Day:

Madelyn Payne Dunham was 86.

Obama announced the news from the campaign trail in Charlotte, N.C. The joint statement with his sister Maya Soetoro-Ng said Dunham died late Sunday at her Honolulu apartment after a battle with cancer.

Knowing how this campaign has gone, and the virulence of Obama's followers toward anyone who does NOT support ...

This AP story--"Pa. woman ordered out of chemical-free 'bubble' "--appears to be a case of a "heartless" municipality who is pestering a very sick woman and forcing her to leave her "chemical-free" 'sanctuary'.

The "Bubble" is a galvanized-steel-and-porcelain shed. Aluminum foil covers the one window. Inside there is a toilet, a metal cabinet, a bed with its boxspring's springs ...
