Now what?

What do all of you think?

My opinion? So far, although President Obama has been suprisingly even-handed in most of his Cabinet choices, there are a few that concern me as being "Eco-nuts" and the "Lifestyle Police" (think the Surgeon General appointee here). Not a good thing for civil liberties.

I also get the impression that this seeming "even-handedness" may be less out of "fairness" and more out of "seeking the path ...

Or, was it? Seems that his appointed successor--former Secretary of State of Illinois Roland Burris--has been told "No Senate seat for you!" This story from MSNBC, "Burris rejected in bid to claim Senate seat", tells of what happened when Mr. Burris showed up with unacceptable credentials:

A mob of reporters awaited him outside the Senate's North Door, where Sergeant at Arms Terrance Gainer and a throng of officers ...

So why not...sell it to the highest bidder? One problem here: That's illegal.

Too bad the Governor of Illinois did not pay attention to THAT little detail; he has been arrested on charges of conspiracy for attempting to do just that according to this Associated Press story (via. the "Waynesboro News Virginian" )--"Illinois gov. released on own recognizance".

It appears that even liberals are wary of Obama! This article from "Politico"--"Liberals voice concerns about Obama"--Democrats themselves are NOT exactly fond of what Obama is pledging to do...or rather, based on his campaign promises, NOT do.

For instance, what about that immediate end to tax breaks for the "wealthy" for redistribution to the "middle class"? Well...

But now he’s struck a more cautious stance on rolling back tax cuts for ...

It looks like our newly-elected Czar...eh...President Obama is not exactly willing to wait for Congress to get HIS Decrees...uh...changes for America in place. Instead, it seems that the "Executive Order" will be his "legislation of choice" in the new Administration. At least, this AP report--"Obama to use executive orders for immediate impact", by Stephen Ohlemacher, Associated Press Writer--indicates that one word that does NOT describe Obama is "patient". ...

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081104/ap_on_el_pr/obama_grandmother

Obama's grandma just died of cancer in Hawai'i. Just before Election Day:

Madelyn Payne Dunham was 86.

Obama announced the news from the campaign trail in Charlotte, N.C. The joint statement with his sister Maya Soetoro-Ng said Dunham died late Sunday at her Honolulu apartment after a battle with cancer.

Knowing how this campaign has gone, and the virulence of Obama's followers toward anyone who does NOT support ...

Is frankly a bunch of smelly cow refuse. According to this Associated Press story--"Obama offers new proposals to help economy" by Christopher Wills of the AP--Obama, speaking before 3,000 people in Toledo, OH, thinks he has the solution to the current financial woes.

What has he in mind? Obama says that his plan includes a 90-day moratorium on home foreclosures, a two-year tax break for businesses that create new jobs...and another proposal, that, frankly, is about as dangerous ...
